1 . बुरा जो देखन मैं चला, बुरा न मिलिया कोय,जो दिल खोजा आपना, मुझसे बुरा न कोय।
Meaning: When I went searching for evil in this world, I did not get any worse. When I looked into my mind and myself, I found that there is nothing worse than me.
Summary: We often call people around us good and bad, but never consider our own behavior. In this couplet, Sant Kabir Das wants to say that we should consider our own actions before assessing others.
2 . पोथी पढ़ि पढ़ि जग मुआ, पंडित भया न कोय,ढाई आखर प्रेम का, पढ़े सो पंडित होय।
Meaning: How many people have spent their entire life in the world while reading books, but not all scholars can become a fine human being. But if one understands only the meaning of love or only two and a half letters of love{in Hindi its प्रेम }, then one becomes true wise if one recognizes the true form or true essence of love.
Summary: We all read many books in our lives, from our childhood till our last time, from which we collect many kinds of information, but the knowledgeable person is the one who brings all those knowledge in his life and in his personality whose behavior is humble. And who lovingly treats people.
3 . साधु ऐसा चाहिए, जैसा सूप सुभाय,सार-सार को गहि रहै, थोथा देई उड़ाय।
Meaning: the world needs such gentlemen as
grain is a clear soup. One who adopts meaningful knowledge and does not adopt meaningless things or knowledge.
Summary: In this couplet, Kabir Das Ji says that all of us should become such a gentleman who is like a soup that adopts good things and knowledge and removes bad things.
4 . धीरे-धीरे रे मना, धीरे सब कुछ होय,माली सींचे सौ घड़ा, ॠतु आए फल होय।
Meaning: In this couplet, Kabir Das Ji says, O mind, just be patient and everything happens slowly. Even if a gardener starts irrigating a tree with a hundred pots of water, the fruit will be planted only when the season comes.

5 . जाति न पूछो साधु की, पूछ लीजिये ज्ञान,मोल करो तलवार का, पड़ा रहन दो म्यान।
Meaning: Kabir Das Ji says that by asking the caste of any gentleman, the desire of his knowledge should be kept. In a war, a sword is important, not its Mayan, that is, the shell that covers it.

6 . बोली एक अनमोल है, जो कोई बोलै जानि,हिये तराजू तौलि के, तब मुख बाहर आनि।

7 . अति का भला न बोलना, अति की भली न चूप,अति का भला न बरसना, अति की भली न धूप।
Meaning: Kabir Das Ji wants to say that neither speaking excessively is good nor it is right to remain excessively silent. Like too much rain is not good and too much sun is also not good.
Summary: We should not only speak but also listen to the words of others and we should not be too silent, but if something is going wrong then it is our duty to speak against it.
8 . निंदक नियरे राखिए, ऑंगन कुटी छवाय,बिन पानी, साबुन बिना, निर्मल करे सुभाय।
Meaning: This couplet implies that, who condemns us, should keep himself close to it. He helps us to enhance our nature more by telling our drawbacks without soap and water.
Summary: We should always keep our critics with our shortcomings close to us so that with their help we can remove our shortcomings and improve our qualities.
9 . दुर्लभ मानुष जन्म है, देह न बारम्बार,तरुवर ज्यों पत्ता झड़े, बहुरि न लागे डार।
Meaning: Kabir Das Ji wants to say that the birth of a human being in this world is found after extreme difficulties. This human body is not found again and again in the same way as the leaf after falling from the tree, then it is not put on putting again.
